Pro Power Dashes Provide Extra Incentive for Wild West Shootout Entrants

Pro Power Desert Dashes provide extra incentive for Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout entrants

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (Dec. 28, 2019) — Three Pro Power Desert Dashes have been scheduled for the January 11-19 Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway, giving Super Late Model drivers who fail to qualify for the night’s finale a shot at some extra cash or even a feature-starting berth.

The 10-lap Pro Power Desert Dashes will be contested during the racing programs on Jan. 11, 12 and 18. Each of the three nights will find 10 drivers, who didn’t qualify for the evening’s Super Late Model feature, competing in the short sprints that boast a first-place prize of $1,000 from a total purse of $2,000. The winners will also have the option to forfeit the $1,000 top prize in order to tag the rear of that evening’s feature field.

“The Pro Power Dash has been a crucial part of the growth of the Super Late Model portion of the event, said Wild West Shootout event coordinator Ben Shelton. “This extra money and extra races provide incentive and a little cash to teams who may have experienced a bad night. Pro Power Racing Engines’ support of our event truly means a lot.

Sullivan, Wis.-based Pro Power Racing Engines proprietor Bill Schlieper and his wife, Josie, will once again be familiar faces in the 3/8-mile oval’s pit area throughout the Wild West Shootout. The Schliepers attend races all over the country each year to service their customers.

“Bill and Josie Schlieper from Pro Power Racing Engines have supported the Wild West Shootout for the past several years, Shelton said. “Not only do they sponsor the Pro Power Dash each year, but they also annually make the long tow to attend the event. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Bill helping a team out with a motor issue, even when it’s not a Pro Power client. With some of these teams towing more than 30 hours, it’s a nice peace of mind to know we have an engine expert in the pits every day.

Associate sponsors of the Pro Power Desert Dashes include Dan Olson Racing Products, Dyers Top Rods, Manley Performance Products, Jones Racing Products, RaceTec Pistons, and Callies Precision Engine Components.

Online sales of single- and multi-day tickets are underway for the popular miniseries, which will pay out over $200,000 in purses over six nights of Super Late Model, Modified and X-Mod racing with tripleheaders are set for Jan. 11, 12, 15, 17, 18 and 19. Fans, can pick up their advanced tickets by visiting www.wildwestshootout.net/schedule/, and it’s worth noting that an adult, advanced six-day package gets a free one-day pit pass upgrade along with a free seat cushion.

The Super Late Model portion of the miniseries will once again boast the Keyser Quarter-Million Challenge, a lucrative program that offers a $250,000 bonus for sweeping all six features; $100,000 for winning five; $25,000 for capturing four; and $10,000 for claiming three. A driver able to pull off the feat of sweeping the races would depart Arizona with over $293,000.

Fans and competitors planning trips to FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway can also now book rooms at the Wild West Shootout’s official hotel, Hyatt Place Phoenix Gilbert in Gilbert, Ariz. Located approximately 20 minutes from the track, a $119 per night room rate for king or two-queen rooms is available for WWS attendees who call 1-888-591-1234 or visit www.HyattPlaceGilbert.com and use the code G-WILD by Dec. 17.
